Orthodontic Emergencies

Accidents happen.

Whether an accident happens during our normal business hours or not, know that you can call us and have your child treated promptly.

Call our office. If it is after hours or on the weekend, either a doctor or staff member will get back to you.

If a wire has become loose or is broken, you may be able fix it until your next appointment. Remove a broken appliance only if it comes out easily. If it is lodged or painful to remove, cover any protruding edges with wax, cotton balls, gauze or chewing gum. DO NOT REMOVE any wire caught in the gums, cheek or tongue; call our office immediately. Emergency attention is usually not required for loose or broken appliances that cause no discomfort.
