Dear Parents and Patients:

This weekend Governor Raimondo lifted the stay-at-home order, thus allowing the resumption of normal activities including dentistry.  We want to update you on how this affects the re-opening of Pediatric Dentistry, Ltd.    It is important for us to first acknowledge all who continue to experience very difficult times due to the impact of the Coronavirus, and to thank all of our workers on the frontline of this pandemic.   As we all slowly resume our routines, we hope to be a “bright spot” for you and your children, as we consider you a part of our “PDL family”.

In preparation for the re-opening of our practice, the doctors and many dedicated staff members have worked countless hours to make important changes that will incorporate many safety recommendations of the CDC and the Rhode Island Department of Health.  Modifications have been made to our waiting room, front desk, and treatment areas to encourage social distancing.  Plexiglass and safety barriers have also been added to our front desk for safety during check-in and check-out.  We have established the mandatory use of face coverings by all adults and patients (over 2 years of age).   Also important, we have changed our clinical attire, adding extra protective gear to ensure the safety of our entire clinical team.

From a clinical perspective, based on Governor Raimondo’s “Phase I” objective of maintaining social distancing, our schedules have been modified to reduce the number of individuals allowed in our office at any one time.  “Super busy” Pediatric Dentistry Ltd., as we have known it, will no longer exist.  We have established systems for safe, efficient, thorough patient care that allow minimal contact between patients.  By “going slow”, these new protocols will allow us to deliver needed dental care for our children, always adhering to the motto “Safety First, Safety Always.”

We plan to ask patients and their parents (please try to leave other siblings at home) to wait in your car until it is time for your appointment.  Please check in by cell phone once you arrive, and we will let you know when it is time to enter the office.   In this way, we plan to avoid extra waiting room time.  We plan to take your child’s temperature (and the accompanying parent if present), ask the Covid-19 screening questions, and then bring you in for treatment.  At check-out, if you cannot be attended to immediately, we will ask you to leave and to complete the payment/reappointment process from home.

During the next 10-14 days, our practice will begin to make the initial contact with families to specify an appointment time.     We want to thank you for your continued trust and patience during this unprecedented period.    As we hope you realize, we are well-prepared to exceed all necessary requirements allowing us to deliver the highest level of dentistry in the safest environment possible.    We look forward to seeing all of you in the future and wish you the best of health and safety until then.

Sincerely,

Drs. Lasser, Elice, Dionisopoulos, Odusanwo
