Dr. Juyoung An came to the United States from South Korea at the age of 13. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2008, she went on to graduate from the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University in 2013.
Dr. “Joyce" began her career as a general dentist, working at two private practices in Massachusetts before joining the Providence Community Health Center (PCHC) in Providence, Rhode Island, where she served as Dental Director for five years. While at PCHC, she found it incredibly rewarding to work with children who became enthusiastic partners in improving not only their oral health but also that of their families. Dr. Joyce looks forward to delivering the most comfortable and person-centered care for every child by building strong rapport with both the child and their family. She can offer various treatment modalities, including nitrous sedation, oral conscious sedation, and deep sedation.
Dr. Joyce also earned a Master’s degree in Dental Public Health, with a focus on how medical and dental professionals can collaborate to promote overall patient wellness. She is equally passionate about applying her public health knowledge to improve oral health outcomes in underserved communities.
Dr. “Joyce” is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Rhode Island Dental Association, Northeast Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Public Health Dentistry, National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA), Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors (ASTDD), and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She also serves on the ASTDD’s Perinatal Oral Health and School and Adolescent Oral Health Committees, and is a member of the AAP Section on Oral Health. Additionally, Dr. Joyce serves on the faculty for NNOHA’s Dental Assistant Workforce Learning Collaborative.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Joyce enjoys watching Korean dramas, exploring local cafes and restaurants, and traveling with her husband.
