A. We believe that every child should be seen by the time of his/her first birthday. Most dental problems (the main one being cavities) in children can be prevented. We want to make sure that you, the parent, are aware of the ways to minimize or prevent these problems
Q. How often should I see a dentist?
A. The American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (ADA) recommend visiting a dentist at least twice a year for a checkup and professional cleaning. Our office also recommends a minimum of two visits per year.
Q. What should I expect during my appointment?
A. The procedure at the first visit will depend on your child’s age, personality and individual needs. He may progress from simply getting familiar with the room and people to a complete examination, cleaning and topical fluoride treatment. Preventive measures will be discussed. In our effort to keep the number of X-rays to a bare minimum, X-rays are not taken on a routine basis. Rather, they are taken only if a specific dental situation warrants it.
Q. What does “painless dentistry” mean?
A. Painless dentistry is a means of ensuring that both the child and parent’s experience in our office is as stress-free and pain-free as possible. A primary goal of our office is to make sure that each dental visit is a positive one. Our objective is for your child to leave our office with a smile (and with a giant balloon).
Q. Are payment plans available for my dental treatment?
A. Yes. We accept most types of dental insurance and will gladly process your claim form for you. Ultimately, however, a parent is responsible for those charges not covered by insurance. We accept most major credit cards, including MasterCard and Visa.
